Back finally~

Okay, I got all wrapped up talking to DH last night. We were discussing upcoming stuff for his retirement ceremony. Even though I have only been able to share in about 1/5 of his career, I feel he deserves a VERY nice retirement ceremony and reception. And I don't mean expensive when I say VERY nice, but it does cost. We were looking for a shadow box he will need for the ceremony. Found the perfect one, in shape of a ship's wheel since he is a quartermaster (navigator). There's about $350 not including the cost of mounting his medals, awards & everything.

We are having the ceremony at the D-Day museum in New Orleans. I'm excited and think it is fitting since we had his last re-enlistment ceremony (only one I was with him for) at a Maritime museum in Texas. But they don't have a private room for a reception. So we are going to look for a place around there or Slidell that we can rent a room. It would be nice to present those who participate a small token of appreciation if we are able. I'm excited as we will hopefully have the Navy Band there and we are hoping to have it approved from DS's school for the color guard of his JROTC present colors. Anyways you'll hear more about that as we get stuff scheduled.

We are BIG Dave Ramsey listeners and are working towards becoming debt free. We have already promised each other not to use any of our credit cards. We will pay them off, cancel & demolish the cards! So if we don't have the cash, we just plain can't afford it! So we have school shopping now, birthdays, retirement and Christmas all in a short span of time. I need ideas to help raise money for his retirement ceremony. I am about to start working on some personalized tumbled coaster (will be fun and hopefully profitable, LOL). Give me any ideas you possibly can.
